| Treasurer’s Report: Expenses/Income Reports: Budgeted offerings needed to meet budget: $2650 Last Month Average offerings: $2,763.50 2012 Annual Average offerings to Date: $2,742.00 Current Account Balances: Checking: $4,122.70 Facilities: $13,083.33 Youth: $4,979.82 Other: $1,038.47 Total Savings: $19,201.62 Thrivent Projects Update: · Choice dollars report. We have received some Thrivent members Choice Dollars, but others may not know how to contribute them. · The local Thrivent chapter still hasn’t announced their budget for 2012. Kroger: Encourage use and order more cards. Treasurer Discussion/New Business: Bookkeeper’s Notes: Needed to transfer money from savings to checking on 2/16/2012. | Treasurer’s Report: · See attached Balance sheet and Budget comparison. · Still need to get the carpet square contribution from Lutheran School of Lexington. | Pastor’s Report: The Circuit Forum Convocation on Two Kingdoms hosted by our Redeemer had 60 people. Kelly is going to look into acquiring a tape of it to pass onto our congregation. Two kingdoms: Govt works to give us order so the church can promote gospel. Pastor continues to have Sunday School class on Walther one of the Founders of the LCMS. Pastor mentioned that he has materials for the older children/teens: Demolishing strongholds which is a teen study. Lent series. · Ash Wednesday starts off the 6 part series of the catechism: THE 10 COMMANDMENTS, THE APOSTLES CREED, THE LORD’S PRAYER, THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM, THE OFFICE OF THE KEYS, THE HOLY SUPPER Easter Week: · Maundy Thursday, Good Friday · Need to find someone to go to district convention with Pastor June 28/29th. · · Currently teaching Adult Class for the Johnsons. | Pastor’s Report: · Kelly will check on getting a copy of the Two Kingdoms convocation. · Send out request for anyone interested in attending the district convention in Ft Wayne, IN June 28 and 29. |
| Elder’s Report · Visited UK students at Blazer Hall. · Looking for a new elder candidate. · Last meeting was at Elder Kelly’s house. · Mens study. Elder Eric will host a men’s meeting at Bellacino’s and get some feedback on a possible men’s group meeting time. · Service time option at 11:00 was discussed to add to the survey. · The elders discussed having a presentation after the service maybe in conjunction with a new member’s luncheon for Elder Charles. | Elder’s Report: · Elders work toward finding a new elder. · Eric/Jordan are working on getting a men’s group together. |

| Christian Education Report: Bible Reading Program Update: Starting week _6_in emails. Posted in Facebook, and on website. Sunday School: · Consistently there have been 4 children in the younger Sunday School class. · There is not currently anything for the upper grade school age children. (They have been attending the adult class). · There was a discussion about combining the high school age with the upper grade school kids. Adult Sunday School: There has been regularly about 10-15 people in attendance. GSLC Men’s group: Meeting time. TBA Topic: Wild at heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man’s Soul by John Eldredge VBS: Date: Beginning of June looks like a good option. | Christian Education Report: · Gretchen will continue to post the Bible reading challenge by email as well as posting on Facebook and the website. · Need ideas on older kids Sunday School time. · Elder Eric and Jordan will be hosting the meeting at Bellacinos to coordinate a regular Men’s meeting. Felicia and Tara will work on coming up with a VBS date to announce at the next meeting. |

| Youth Group: Activities: Costa Rica - July 8-18 Costa Rica · Bellacinos Thursday Feb 23rd. · Luncheon at O’Briens - 1pm Sunday, 26th. · March 24 irish dance dinner · Looking for more dinner nights out restaurants for March and April. · Car wash tickets will be passed out this weekend. · Spring flower sale: TBA · Easter brunch donations go toward youth. Youth will help clean up. · Joseph beth? · Wed or tuesday nights for uk students? Need someone to head that up. College night. · Polo shirts. Kelly has offered to embroider polo shirts. Gretchen agreed to come up with an order form. · Rachel discussed the commitment to Rupp concessions for next year. She has a concern that the church will not be able to fulfill enough helpers to make it work because there will not be a big youth event to fundraise for. | Youth Group: · Rachel will send Gretchen some notes on the Costa Rica What to Bring for the presentation. · Rachel get with Lesa Palmer, Gretchen and Susan about details for Irish Dinner/Dance. · Put car wash tickets in enveloped and have kids prepay for them. · Gretchen will send Kelly another logo and work on order form. · The staff will need to address the Rupp concession commitment at the next meeting. |
| Evangelism/Altar Guild: Note: Online advertising for events can be done online now. Stephen Ministry Costs: Cost $1675 one time - gets you all manuals $1076/person for the week-long conference leader training. It was agreed that this would be a good goal to send someone to training. Kelly and Pastor will consider the right person to send to training. Lwml bluegrass zone needs a candidate to represent our district for the Indiana convention. Anyone interested could contact Kelly. Heart to heart Sisters. Kelly introduced this program from the LCMS as a possible resource for the church and school: The purpose of the Heart to Heart Sisters Task Force is to motivate, equip, and ensure opportunities for women of diverse ethnic groups to serve the church and witness to the world. http://www.lwml.org/resources/lutheran-women-in-mission-heart-to-heart-sisters.htm Convocation on Two Kingdoms at Our Redeemer: Our redeemer convocation was taped. EASTER: It was agreed that some Easter bags be made for the kids of GSLC. Easter egg hunt will be coordinated by the GSLC youth. Sponsor a child fundraising will continue through Lent. Make up bags for Jamie Moline to send to Craig who is currently in Afghanistan. Letters pens and pencils and personal care items. See list to the right. Visitors: UK Students. Visitor bags are on table. | Evangelism/Altar Guild: · Kelly and Pastor to consider person for Stephen ministry. · Kelly will check on getting a copy of the convocation tape. · Kelly, Gretchen, Felicia will work on Easter gift bags for the children of GSLC. · Kelly will ask Nancy/Susan what the total so far is for the Orphan giving. · Kelly, Gretchen, Felicia will help get a care package of pencils and other things together for Jamie Moline to send to Craig: Items needed by Jamie Moline: Toilet paper, baby wipes, hand sanitizer, pens/pencils, "Mio" drink flavorings (but no powder mixes), honey roasted peanuts, salt and vinegar Pringles. In general, any sort of packaged snack foods, personal hygiene products (Craig specifically likes Old Spice body wash and deodorant), batteries. No pork products or chocolate. He is allowed religious materials for personal use, but anything in quantity would be looked at as intent to distribute, and that is strictly verboten. I think emblems, although they would hardly qualify as 'religious material' would probably be pushing the line too close. Now, things like that CAN be sent to the Chaplain. · Visitors: Uk Students: Arny and Gretchen will drop off gift bags to UK Students. · Gretchen should make some ore visitor bags. |

| Trustee Projects/Report: · Called Sign A Rama to begin repair on sign. · Glenn McCarty’s insurance company sent check for damages: $2,382.00 Change sign location? · Get an estimate for electricity · Get a banner. · Clean up day on March 17 (church’s) and April 28th for LSL/GSLC. Get dumpster after clean up days. · The church has been offered a used refrigerator from Carol and Roger Fischer (from St John's). Kelly will coordinate the payment and pickup. Will need a truck to pick it up. | Trustee Projects/Report: · Gretchen will stay in contact with Sign A Rama to fix the sign. · Trustees to get an electric estimate to move wiring for new sign location and cross lighting. · Gretchen will order banner. · Order dumpster early May after clean up events. · Kelly will contact he Fischers about refrigerator pickup. |
| Congregational Secretary Report: · Discussed the survey format and it will be sent out with 3 options: 1. Change service to 10:00 2. Change service to 11:00 3. | NEW BUSINESS: · Sign location/design. There was a discussion about moving the location of the main church sign. A cost for moving the electrical out to the new location and to the cross would have to be acquired. · Discuss LSL Lease space agreement. It was agreed that a draft of a space-lease agreement would be drafted and submitted to Jack Cunningham for review and then submitted to the LSL. · There was a discussion about music. It was agreed that music during church time should be non-secular, but if secular music could be presented through a concert at church as a special event. · Narcotics group meets Sundays - 8 to 9. Chris will likely give them a key at the next meeting. Still need their group use agreement form as well as their insurance documentation. · Evangelism group to coordinate a small gift bag to give to Narcotics Group members. Next meeting · March 11 special meeting to decide on LSL expansion. · March 17 – Clean Up Day. · Staff meeting 18th. Closing prayer by Pastor Johnson. | NEW BUSINESS: · The trustees will look into getting a cost estimate for new exterior electrical run under the sidewalk and driveway out to the cross and a new possible sign location. · Gretchen will work with the staff to draft a space lease agreement. · Gretchen will send out survey to congregation. Arny will tabulate the results. · Chris will secure the Group Use agreement form from the Narcotics group as well as their insurance information. · Kelly, Gretchen, Felicia work on putting together a small gift bag for the women of the narcotics group. |
